Welcome to the Owatonna Area Learning Center.  We are a “school of choice.” Each of our students wants to attend school at the ALC for their grades 9-12 education.  Our students are resilient, hard working, determined, creative and brilliant.  In some cases, something has happened that has taken them off-track from graduating “on time.”

The ALC staff is strong at building relationships, getting to know the students, and finding out what students need in order to accomplish their goal of earning credits towards graduation.  In the ALC, we respond to student needs. We are flexible with schedules and content delivery. Some students appreciate the smaller class sizes while participating in a seat-based class. Other students value having the opportunity to take some courses online with the intent of being self-paced; this is how some students are able to recover credits if they are behind their graduation plan.

The ALC offers the Early Middle College program, MAAP Stars, and many volunteer experiences that are designed to put students into leadership positions.  We absolutely believe in our students, and we enjoy participating in activities that permit their positive leadership skills to shine.

If you are curious about what it would be like to attend the Owatonna ALC, we encourage you to call the ALC office.  We would be happy to meet with you to answer any questions that you may have. (507)444-8001.
